Val Gardena and particularly Ortisei, is a good starting point for hiking. Ortisei is situated in the middle of the Dolomites, UNESCO World Natural Heritage. It doesn’t matter if you’re up for a walk or for a hiking tour, everybody will find something.

Take a break in one of the traditional huts, enjoy the fabulous view on the Rasciesa/Raschötz or go for a walk on the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm.

Monday

Panoramic hike to Resciesa

The local guides will accompany you on a great hiking tour across the Resciesa Alp and show you the most fascinating places. You will discover the Holy Cross chapel in a breath-taking landscape and enjoy the spectacular view of the imposing Odle-peaks in the Puez-Odle Nature Park, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.

Hike at the foot of the Sassolungo

Experience summer at its best during an excursion to Mont Sëura. Accompanied by a hiking guide, the chairlift takes you from Monte Pana to the quiet Mont Sëura alpine pasture below the Sassolungo. The spectacular view of the Dolomites accompanies you all the way, which leads you through magical forests to Ciampinoi. The descent is via Plan de Gralba down to Selva di Val Gardena.

Tuesday

Naturalistic hike below the Odle

The exciting hike in the heart of the Puez-Odle Nature Park starts at the Col Raiser cable-way. Starting from the top station, a forest path leads to the newly built Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage viewpoint Mastlé – S. Cristina/Val Gardena, which is located at 2.200 m. The path beneath the vertical Fermeda Towers leads then to Pieralongia and after to the higher Seceda Alp. From here you hike back to the starting point.

Alpe di Siusi: Guided hike with the Mountain Guides “Catores”

Seiser Alm – with 56 km² Europe’s largest plateau – offers countless hiking possibilities. Explore the most beautiful hiking trails with the local guides and discover the beautiful landscape with blossoming meadows, idyllic mountain huts and the amazing scenery of the Dolomites. The Sassolungo Group, the Denti di Terrarossa, the Sciliar and many other mountain peaks will enchant you in every way.

Wednesday

A 360° experience in the Dolomites: via Alpe di Mastlé to Monte Pic

The panorama tour starts at the top station of the Col Raiser cable car. From here it goes over the Alpe Mastlé to the Sella Cuca. The ascent to the Monte Pic is the first major highlight of this hike. The fantastic 360° view of the surrounding landscape is simply breath-taking. The descent leads to the Alpe Sëurasas until reaching Runcaudië and finally the village of S. Cristina.

Step by step to pure hiking happiness: Plans de Frea

Experience summer at its best during an excursion in heart of the Dolomites. Accompanied by a hiking guide, the cable care takes you from Selva to Ciampinoi below the Sassolungo. The spectacular view of the Dolomites accompanies you all the way, which leads you through magical forests in direction to Passo Gardena. The descent is via the «Plans de Frea» down to Selva di Val Gardena.

Thursday

Panoramic hike on Seceda-Mastlé

Step by step through the Puez-Odle Nature Park. The panorama you see during this medium difficult hike is simply exciting. Accompanied by a local guide, you start from the Seceda top station walking then to the Troier Hut, further via Pieralongia and the Rifugio Firenze to the picturesque mountain lake “Lech Sant”. After, you walk back to the valley. Let yourself be enchanted by the extraordinary panorama of the majestic Dolomites!

Thursday

Naturalistic hike across the Forcella Piza to Stevia

From the top of the Col Raiser cable car, the hike takes a gentle descent to the Rifugio Firenze, before walking steeply up to the Forcella Piza. From there it goes to the Rifugio Stevia crossing rich alpine meadows. After a lunch break, follow a slightly up- and downhill path towards the Forcella S. Silvestro. Shortly before reaching it, turn left to the Steviola, then return to the village of Selva di Val Gardena on the path of the Palota.

Friday

Follow the whistles: the Marmot Walk on the Alpe di Siusi

From Mont Sëura, a slightly ascending path at the foot of the Sasso Piatto takes you through meadows and forests to the „Piza da Uridl“ and finally to the Zallinger Hut. After a short break the path leads you to the pastures of „Plan de Cunfin“ and then back to Monte Pana.

Friday

From Alpe Rasciesa to the fascinating Forcella Pana

Starting from Ortisei, you can comfortably reach the top using the Resciesa funicular. From the mountain station, head towards the Alpe Resciesa di Dentro to the Brogles hut. The steep ascent to the serpentine begins at the foot of the Odle Group and leads to a wonderful panoramic point. The view of the impressive mountain scenery is vast and will remain in your memories for a long time to come. Via the Alpe Mastlé you will finally return to S. Cristina.

Saturday

Small space – high diversity: hike into the lunar landscape Puez

The hike through the Nature Park Puez-Odle starts at the top station of the Dantercepies cable car – a terrace with an amazing view of the Passo Gardena and the Sella massif. Following the path, you get to the Cir and the Crespëina Pass. The hike continues on a barren plateau, passing the Crespëina lake until reaching the Rifugio Puez. The splendid descent back to Selva di Val Gardena leads you through the marvelous Vallunga with the picturesque S. Sylvester’s chapel.

Saturday

Day tour on the Seiser Alm - Europe’s largest high-altitude alpine meadow

Sunday

Royal views: Hiking along the Federico Augusto trail

From Ciampinoi you hike in the direction of Passo Sella and Col Rodella, which you will reach after about half an hour. After another 2 hours walk you arrive at the Rifugio Sasso Piatto, where lunch is planned. The wonderful view over Val di Fassa, Alpe di Siusi and the Sasso Piatto will take your breath away. Also on the way back to Selva di Val Gardena, there will be many picturesque impressions.

Sunday

S. Jacob/Balest: guided hike with the mountain guides “Catores”

Together with the alpine guides “Catores”, you walk to Runcaudie/Balest, passing the little church of St. Jacob – the oldest in the valley – and the traditional farms of the small village above Ortisei. Here the view is simply stunning – hidden clearings on Balest offer a spectacular view of the Sassolungo Group.
